Fantastic meal. Old school vibe. Excellent value. Warm and friendly staff. Minus one star for pretty lackluster cocktails. We will still return for certain.
The Nest was a lovely experience from start to finish! Easy to find, valet service was quick and professional, and the doorman was charming. We made a reservation in advance, but we embarrassingly had to call twice to let them know we were running late. They were so courteous and kind about it; I totally would have understood if they said they couldn't accommodate our tardiness--but very pleasant surprise, they didn't. We were seated promptly despite our lateness, at a lovely little table for two. Service was professional, fast, and friendly. Our server, Patrick, was really kind and warm. They didn't question us wanting to split a dish; we didn't want to be too full since we were going to be dancing, etc. The entree came with a salad, and we went with the Wedge Salad, which was delicious and perfect to split. The main dish (Dodi's Pasta) was just fine. When we were offered the dessert menu, I let Patrick know that it was my beloved friend's birthday. I was so impressed by his professional response; he quickly wished my friend a happy birthday and said, "I have something special for you!" So sweet and really shows a server who has experience with customers! He brought out a generous slice of chocolate cake and lit a candle, then left us alone to celebrate privately--just perfect! We paid for our dinner, and we walked over to the other side, where the bar is. Live covers were being played, and they covered an impressive range of genre, generation, and tempo. It was awesome! Bartenders were responsive and friendly. We felt safe there. Our car was promptly provided to us when we left. Overall, a very nice experience. Thank you, The Nest team!
Totally agree with the Yelp description of "lively local spot." I definitely recommend making a reservation because it appears to be a very popular spot for dinner, grabbing drinks and late night fun (there was a line to get in when we left dinner around 10pm). From the outside it looks rather unassuming but once you enter it is a contemporary atmosphere with mood lighting, lots of liveliness and entertainment singing popular songs. I was also surprised at how many areas it had - the main bar/dance-floor right as you enter, main dining room and another room in the far back. We came for dinner so we were seated in the main dining area in a booth along the wall which provided a prime people-watching view. A quick observation was the variety of diners, from children to golfers to people celebrating birthdays. Many people joined in on "dinner karaoke" singing along with the local entertainment as well as singing happy birthday. A clown also was wandering the restaurant, no idea why but that was entertaining. On to the food and service. I must say they are a well oiled machine, the staff works very well together in providing great service. Our drinks came out so quickly and our water cups were never empty. They had some pretty good specials this night and I ordered one of them - scallop pasta in a lemon sauce. We also ordered the classic petite filet which came with a hearty serving of mashed potatoes and asparagus. Also an added bonus is the salad or soup option that comes with entrees. I will say the food was rather tasty and can see why many people dine here. Additionally, was pleasantly surprised that their house wine was Daou (love it!). Lastly, You could literally stay here all night. After dinner you could move to the bar area, meet people, enjoy the entertainment and dance. If I didn't have such an early day the next day I would've stayed. Friendly vibes, great atmosphere and good food sums up this place for me.
This was a delicious meal with great service and portions. My wife and I dined here for our last night in the Indian Wells area. It was relatively close to the hotel we were staying at and right next door to the Sands Hotel that we were considering staying at. We made reservations, but because it was Labor Day and relatively empty in the dining room we were seated with no wait. There was a live band performing in the bar and dance floor area. You could tell that people were there to celebrate and have a good time. The restaurant is definitely great for locals, but the story of the owner Dodi makes you feel like you're invited to have a meal in her family's home. Our meal started with the baked artichoke dip and once we had it we know we had made the right decision to dine here. My wife won't admit it, but she was worried because there were more people at the bar than in the dining room. I figured it was because our reservations were relatively late on a holiday. From there we both ordered our entrees. Even though I don't really eat red meat, I decided to have the sampler plate because it was listed on the 'Mom's Favorite Recipes'. Reading Dodi's story made me want to experience Bosnian food. It included ground beef wrapped cabbage rolls, spinach pie, and Moussaka a lasagna style eggplant dish with ground beef. The dish was delicious and the presentation was excellent. I probably eat red meat once every 3 years and this meal was worth it. My wife had a delicious chicken picatta, mashed potatoes, and asparagus. We both enjoyed our entrees and the service. I failed to get the name of our waitress but she was attentive and personable. Every time I try to avoid dessert my wife ends up getting the menu and I endulge. On this occasion, at the suggestion of our waitress I had the peanut butter cake. My wife had some kind of strawberry cake that she's been raving about. The food, service, and ambiance were all a reason for us to return. We're considering staying at the Sands hotel next door and that will probably give us an excuse. Who am I kidding? Even if we stay somewhere else we'll definitely come back to try some other things on the menu.
Came in for a quick drink - it was filled up and lively, loved it! Drinks were pretty good and love the old bar lounge vibe! We'll be back!
Amy our waitress was wonderful. The staff was super friendly and the valet was also helpful. Parking is of concern so we took extra pictures & confirmed w/the staff that our car would not be towed. The food was not as great as we hoped (except for the wedge salad and the chocolate cake were delectable). We got the Australian half rack of lamb that included mashed potatoes, veggies (carrots, squash, zucchini), and an option for Caesar salad, Wedge salad, or soup (soup was not available at the time). We also got the lemon pacific sole. -bread & butter 3*** -wedge salad (balsamic on the side) 5***** -Caesar salad 3.5**** -asparagus side 4.25**** -veggies side (zucchini, squash, carrots) 3.5**** -mashed potato sides 4**** -pacific sole 3.5**** -Australian half rack of lamb 3.75**** -chocolate cake 5***** -service 5*****
My hubby and I came here last week on a Thursday night. I was nervous at first when I read the recent reviews, but the food looked delicious in the pictures. I made a reservation, and when we arrived, we were seated right away. Our waitress was very pleasant, and offered suggestions. It was quite loud in there like the reviews said, but that wasn't a big deal for us. I ordered the eggplant parmesan, and my hubby ordered the chicken Parmesan. We scraped our plates clean! The food was delicious! We were going to stay and listen to the music in the bar area, but it was packed like sardines in there lol. We'll definitely be visiting The Nest again. I need more of that eggplant Parmesan!
I was in town for a conference and found The Nest by recommendation and I'm sure glad that I did. When you first walk in, you walk into what looks like a dive bar. Funky music and a mixed crowd dancing around the dance floor. But once you enter the dining room, it's a welcoming restaurant. All of the staff were friendly and attentive. We started off with garlic bread which was yummy. I ordered the Cajun double pork chop and it was so delicious. Perfectly cooked. I was afraid that the "Cajun" meant spicy but it wasn't at all. It was just perfectly seasoned. My friends ordered a steak and chicken marsala. Everyone said that their meal was delicious. Casual restaurant but still somewhat pricey. I would definitely return. So good!!
